Data, such as video, can be converted into pulses of light which can then travel through a fiber optic cable as a laser beam. The cables are made of glass, which normally would reflect the laser, just like a mirror. But it seems that are having problems with segments of our cables. We're going to shrink you to fit inside of a fiber optic cable as thin as a human hair so that you can use mirrors to transmit the data manually.   Metal cables carry eletrical pulses, and fiber optic cables carry light pulses. Unlike metal, fiber optic cables are safe from water damage, and safe from interference from radio waves.
